Lawn care tips
The best time to mow
Mow your lawn when the grass is dry to prevent the clippings from clumping and forming unsightly piles. Mowing in the evening is ideal, especially on hot summer days, to protect the lawn.
Mowing frequency
Regular mowing ensures a neat appearance and a clean cut. During the mowing season, a frequency of every 3–5 days is recommended to prevent the grass from becoming too high.
Short, fine clippings decompose faster and do n't stick to the lawn's surface . If the lawn is already too high, mow at a higher cutting height first and gradually reduce it over several passes .
Cutting height
Follow the 1/3 rule : Never cut more than one-third of the current grass height at a time. This prevents clippings from accumulating on the lawn.
During rapid growth – for example in spring – it may be advisable to mow the lawn more often or twice to maintain the optimal height.
Proper watering
The ideal time to water is early in the morning between 4 and 8 a.m. so that the soil can absorb the water before it evaporates in the midday sun.
A healthy lawn needs 3–4 cm of water per week . Make sure to water deeply but not frequently —this encourages deeper roots to develop, making the lawn more resistant to heat, drought, and disease.
Do not water too much
Overwatering can damage the lawn and encourages peat buildup . Allow the lawn to dry slightly between waterings. As a guideline, only water again when the top 4–6 cm of soil is dry —a screwdriver or wooden stick can help with this test.
Benefits of grass cutting
Grass clippings contain 80–85% water and help retain moisture in the soil . They also reduce evaporation—ideal for mulching.
In addition, the clippings cover about a quarter of the lawn's annual nutrient requirements , which significantly reduces the use of fertilizer .
Sharp knives – clean cuts
A sharp blade is essential for a healthy lawn. It cuts cleanly, prevents damage to the grass blades, and reduces the risk of fungal and pest infestation.
We recommend replacing the blade of your robotic lawnmower at least once a year .
Moss formation & clippings
Moss doesn't form from grass clippings left lying around. Because grass clippings consist primarily of water and contain little lignin, they decompose quickly .
Finely chopped grass clippings (approx. 2 cm long) can even have a positive effect on soil quality and the microclimate in the lawn.
